Summary: The baby was about to be born. Edward knew bella wouldn’t come out of this alive. There was no time to waste. Jacob gave Bella CPR while Edward used a scalpel to cut through Bella’s stomach. Then it got intense. Edward used his teeth to cut through the vampire skin the baby was kept inside of. Bella’s heartbeat was dim and fading.
My Questions:
1. Did Edward have any other option as to cutting Bella open, or should he have waited for Carlise, and risk Bella’s life?
2. Should Renesmee be destroyed once taken out of Bella for hurting her or should they keep her?
My Response: Wow! This chapter was pretty intense and graphic. I don’t think that Renesmee should be destroyed but she should be well taken care of, you can never be too sure of the danger they might be running.
Quote (page # ): “ The next sound jolted me, unexpected, terefying . Like metal being shredded apart… I glanced over to see Edward’s face pressed against the bulge. Vampire teeth- a surefire way to cut through vampire skin.” (Page 352)
- Was It wrong of Edward to have done that? Even when it saved her life?

Summary: Edward knew that Bella wouldn’t survive this. He acted quickly. He injected his venom into Bella’s heart, bit her all over her body, licking the wounds so that his venom wouldn’t spill out. Jacob was horrified and disgusted. But it was the only thing Edward could do to save Bella. “Emergency Vampirization.”
My Questions:
1. Would Bella survive, or was it to late?
2. Would Bella be able to adapt to being a Vampire with Edward?
My Response: I think that what Edward did was heroic. He saved Bella and was giving her 2 in 1. Her life back and himself. She wants him more than anything in the world, including Renesmee.
Quote (page # ): “ ‘What’s that?’ His stone hand knocked mine out of the way. There was a tiny crush as his blow broke my little finger. In the same second, he shoved the needle straight into her heart. ‘My Venom.’” (Page 354)
- Bella would be fine but she wouldn’t be the same old bella anymore.

Summary: Bella explains the burning pain she suffered during her transformation. Then when she wakes from the painful experience ( 3 days later), she looks at herself in the mirror. Chocolate colored eyes, cold and pale skin, and strength.
My Questions:
1. Would Bella harm anyone now that she is a new born?
2. Since Bella’s daughter is half vampire, half human, would bella react indifferent with her? (as in would she smell her and want to drink her blood?)
My Response: I believe that as a mother you are strong and would go to any limit to save your young. So in this case, Bella is immune to her smell. And she is stonger than any of the other vampires because she is a new born. But she wouldn’t harm anyone. She loves her family.
Quote (page # ): “ ‘Don’t panic, love,’ he said, lifting his hand to touch my lips, parted in horror. ‘ You’re just a little stronger than I am for the moment.’ ” ( Page 393)
- Bella was stronger than Edward. Edward still feels guilty for transforming her. Should he?

Summary: Edward and Bella go hunting. Bella smells a human approaching. She ran off because she was scarred he might have recongnized her not because she was running from temptation. She had a gift.
My Questions:
1. Should Bella have ran away or should she have stayed to make small talk with the human?
2. Is Bella’s gift of Self Control important?
My Response: I think because bella always had self control as a human, her gift as a vampire would be that but only a little more improved. She has amazed the Cullens’. They cant believe that with only 3 days as a new born she has matured and is acting like a vampire years old.
Quote (page # ): “ ‘What else could I do?’ I asked. His attitude confused me- what did he want to have happened? ‘ It might have been someone I know!’” (Page 419)
- Edward began laughing, not because he was making fun of her, but because he was amazed.

Summary (1-3 sentences maximum): Summary: Bella was finished hunting and thought she was full enough to go back home and see Renesme. They headed back home. Bella noticed something odd on Renesme. She flipped. Jacob had imprinted on Renesme. Not only that but she was growing so fast. She could speak already and was very smart.
My YES/NO Questions:
1. Will anything change now that Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee?
2. Should Bella be very upset with what Jacob did to Renesmee?
My Response: I don’t think Bella could hurt her own daughter. She is a very strong new born. She was able to run from a full human, then she’s able to resist herself with her own daughter. Nothing will really change now that Jacob imprinted on Nessie. The only difference is that its obvious now that Jacob and Nessie love eachother. Bella shouldn’t stress it so much about the imprinting. Its something that happens and she couldn’t have avoided it. She should be happy that her daughter is well taken care of.
This relates to my Big Question because: Is it right or wrong of the Volturi to be cautious when it comes to Renesmee. They have never had a child like her. Half human and half vampire. They don’t know if she’ll be dangerous or not.
Something that happened in the section that made me think this is:
Quote from this section that supports my thoughts: (p. # 450 )
“Because you’re the one who told me this. Do you remember? You said we belonged in eachother’s lives right? That we were family. You said that was how you and I were suppose to be. So … now we are. It’s what you wanted.”

Summary (1-3 sentences maximum): Renesme has a gift. She can let you into her mind, which is the opposite of Edward and Bella. Edward can read your mind and you can’t read Bella’s mind. Bella’s upset because they don’t let her be around Renesme. They are scarred that at the slightest jerk of anger, she might hurt her because she is still a new born.
My YES/NO Questions:
1. Even though Bella is a new born, do you think she is capable of hurting her own daughter?
2. Do you think its right of the Cullen family to be so over protective with Renesme?
My Response: Bella should have the right to be with her daughter. Yes, there should be someone guarding just in case but she doesn’t need them all hovering over her. That will only make her feel more like a monster than a mom. Besides she says Renesme makes her feel calm.
This relates to my Big Question because:
It seems wrong that they guard her 24 hours of the day when she is around Renesmee or when she makes the slightest move. They try not to irritate her so she wont make any drastic decisions that could hurt someone. Afterall, she is the strongest vampire there, at the same time they should take precaution. They shouldn’t rely too much on her powers of self control. She can still give in.
Something that happened in the section that made me think this is:
The part when she was telling herself that she needs to calm down , trying not to think about what was going on. Then she handed Renesmee to Edward to go fight with Jacob for the imprinting.
Quote from this section that supports my thoughts: (p. # 462 )
“‘Im in control,’ I promised. Thirstiness was way down the list right now. Besides, Renesmee smelled good in a very non-food way.”

Summary (1-3 sentences maximum): Alice has stayed away from Renesme because she says that she gives her a head ache. But Alice had a premonition of the future and from what she saw, she had to make drastic decisions. The Volturi, the whole court, and their wives were coming. They fount out about Renesme. To them, the Cullens broke the law and had to be destroyed. Alice and Jasper ran off and made everyone think they were gone for good.
My YES/NO Questions:
1. Is it fair for the Volturi to judge the Cullens that way, when they are close friend?
2. Was it fair for Alice and Jasper to just leave like that?
My Response: The Volturi don’t have to come in sense of attack but more curiosity. Alice and Jasper have the freedom to leave when they please but not at such a desperate time of need for their family. But maybe they left to get help.
This relates to my Big Question because:
There is a lot of confusion on why things are happening and if they are suppose to happen or not. They are debating on whether they stand up for a fight or not. They don’t know what is right and wrong in this situation. They only thing they are sure of is that the Volturi are coming and they might not want to stop and listen about Renesmee. They wont want to hear an explination. They are coming to destroy.
Something that happened in the section that made me think this is:
Carlise thought of gathering witnesses, that way when the volturi come, they can see that they have a lot of people on their side and they might change their minds about Rnesemee, or atleast for a while until she is more grown up.
Quote from this section that supports my thoughts: (p. # 545 )
“ ‘The Volturi, Alice moaned. ‘All of them,’ Edward groaned at the same time. ‘Why?’ Alice whispered to herself. ‘How?, When?’ Edward whispered.”

Summary (1-3 sentences maximum): The Cullens already know what the Volturi are after. They all separate and seek witnesses for when the Voturi come. They need the witnesses to see what really happened with Renesme.
My YES/NO Questions:
1. Do you think the Cullens should fight back?
2. Is it right of the Cullens to seek out witnesses and put them in danger as well?
My Response: They only have to come at their own free will. Carlise had declared since the beginning that they wont be fighting. He just needs witnesses. They wont be in danger as long as they don’t get in the way.
This relates to my Big Question because: The Volturi is like a Royal Family from Italy. They try to protect the Vampire coven. They are simply coming to do their job. But, the cullens know for a fact that they were given wrong information about Renemee. She is growing by the minute and she changes. They need to stop and listen. But the Cullens should put up a fight if necessary. They need to defend themselves.
Something that happened in the section that made me think this is:
The witnesses that came to help the Cullens told the family that they wouldn’t just stand back and watch the family get destroyed for something they were falsely accused of. So they told Carlise to count on them, if it comes down to a fight, to fight back by their side.
Quote from this section that supports my thoughts: (p. # 566 )
“Alice said that we would have to show people Renesmee, and we would have to be careful about it. We’ll send whoever we can find back here to you-Edward.”

Summary (1-3 sentences maximum): When alice left, she left a note with a name. J Jenkings. Bella knew this was for her because Alice wrote on a torn page from one of Bella’s books. When she got the chance, she took Renesme and Jacob to Charlie’s. She took advantage that Edward cant read her mind to go pay this J. Jenkings a visit. Jenkings made illegal/ fake passaports and id’s. She knew now what Alice meant for her to do. So she made two. One for Renesme(Nessie) and one for Jacob.
My YES/NO Questions:
1. Was Bella right in making those passports for Nessie and Jacob?
2. Would Alice would have wanted her to go this far?
My Response: Bella did what anyone would do in a situation like that. She knew that she had to make them for a reason. Once the Volturi came, Renesme and Jacob needed to escape and they would need the passports in order to get far from there.
This relates to my Big Question because:
Bella didn’t know what to do with the note that Alice left for her. She didn’t want to upset or worry Edward. But she knew that she had to do it and that it would be easy because Edward can read her mind. So he wont know that she was gone. He would think that she was still at Charlie’s with Renesmee and Jacob.
Something that happened in the section that made me think this is:
Bella takes Jacob and Renesmee over to Charlie’s, since Charlie couldn’t go over there to a house full of Vampires. So then , Bella takes advantage and tells them she has to go run some arronds, which was to go to J. Jenkings but she didn’t know what for yet.
Quote from this section that supports my thoughts: (p. # 634 )
“ Even if he couldn’t help but think about this near Edward, at least there wasn’t much for him to share. He had no idea what I was up to. Of course, I thought to myself as I got into the car, it wasn’t like I had much idea, either.”
